The battle between ‘Abracadabra’ and ‘Gee’ is not over yet.
The final music awards for the season, the 2010 Korean Music Awards, is under way.
In 4 of the various categories, including ‘Song of the Year,’ Brown Eyed Girls and SNSD
were both announced as the nominees, which is sure to make for a head-to-head battle
between the two girl groups, who released 2009’s hit songs ‘Abracadabra’ and ‘Gee’, respectively.
SNSD grabbed nominations for ‘Best Dance Song,’ ‘Best Electronica-Techno Song,’
‘Song of the Year,’ ‘Best Pop Song,’ and ‘Musician of the Year: Netizens’ Choice’–
adding up to total of 5 nominations.
Not to fall short, Brown Eyed Girls also had a total of 5 nominations, including ‘Best Dance Song,’
‘Best Electronica-Techno Song,’ ‘Song of the Year,’ and ‘Musician of the Year: Netizens’ Choice.’
The Korean Music Awards is judged by 60 judges including various music professors, columnists,
producers, composers that are heavily involved in K-pop today. There are total of 25 categories,
taking various statistics from 11/11/2008 to 11/10/2009 as a basis of judgement.
Who will be crowned the pop princesses of 2009? The results will be announced on March 30th!
