Adored for her cute charms that sometimes call for fists, Sunny of Girls’ Generation (SNSD) will unfortunately be leaving KBS’ Invincible Youth 2.
According to Invincible Youth 2 staff on July 6, Sunny, who has been a member of the show since its first season on air, completed filming for her last episode at the end of June. July 7’s episode will be Sunny’s last time on Invincible Youth 2.
“She appeared on the show until it became stable, and she will naturally exit in time for the show’s new format change.”
SM Entertainment stated, “After Sunny exits from Invincible Youth 2, she will put focus all of her attention on SNSD activities.”
Fans of the show were said to see Sunny go, saying, “She made the show so fun,” “It’s sad to see her leave,” and “Maybe she’ll appear as a guest in the future.”
In place of Sunny, comedienne Lee Young Ja has been added to the show’s cast.
Electronics maker Casio has appointed Korea’s female idol group, Girls’ Generation, as the image character for the wrist watch, “Baby G”, in the Asia market for a limited time. There are also plans to sell a limited Girls’ Generation model before the year ends. By appointing Asia’s top idol group, the aim is to boost up the value of the brand.
Girls’ Generation will be the image character in eleven Asian countries, including China, Korea, Indonesia, and many others. However, this excludes Japan. The plan is to have a 50% increase in sales for 2013 compared with 2011.
The promotion plans to advertise on the website, store fronts, newspapers, and magazines. The length of contract is planned for one year, starting in mid July.
